Is a single (left) side safety available for the M&P line or only ambi? I want to add the thumb safety to my full size .45 2.0 as it's the only non-1911 I will carry and have 50+ years of using the 1911 :D

I'm not a fan of ambi safeties and considered modifying mine. Short version is I think the right side can be clipped and the frame plug inserted.

From what I recall clipping the right side wing, only the part that sits outside the frame, still allows for proper function of left side only. I didn't think of doing mine until after I had installed new trigger, sear, spring and such and was pretty much fed up with the process.

I don't know of anyone who sells a single side only safety for the M&P - seems like someone should.

Thanks. My main 1911 is a custom build that has the Ed Brown "tactical" ambi, the right side lever is thin like the left so it's not a big deal but it would be nice to have the option on the M&P.
