Just wanted to share my research on replacing the drive belt of my Thumler Model B tumbler. The cheapest I could find branded replacements online was $5.99 plus shipping. A little time spent measuring/sizing helped me conclude it was a #343 Buna-N "O" ring available from Grainger for $1.44. They are sold by the pair, so $2.88 and free shipping to your local store is a good savings worth keeping a spare or two. Here's a link:

At Ace Hardware. Eureka Vac Belts. Style 1100. 2 for $1.50.
I've had my Thumbler going on 40 years and gone through a lot of belts. A motor too.
Release the tension on the belt when not in use.
Most hardware stores will have it. No shipping cost.

Durabelt Vacuum Cleaner Belt #65100
Fits Eurika Vacuum cleaners model/series:
400, 1400, 1900, 2000, 2100, 4000, 5000, 6400, and 7500 series

Purchase at Wallymart, vacuum cleaner section, a pkg. of two is $2.49.
That's $1.25 each and no postage or waiting.

You can mail order an O-ring , #343-E70 EDPM O-ring- 70 Duro- FDA- Black, from The O-Ring Store LLC. The cost is only $0.80 but the postage is $5.00

The size you need for a Thumbler Model B is 3 3/4 inch ID x 4 1/8 inch OD x 3/16 inch CS.
I've not tried the O-ring, I put a #65100 vacuum cleaner belt on mine about 6 years ago and it hasn't broken yet. The belt may be just slightly thicker than 3/16 inch....but it slips on, holds fast and doesn't break, so I'm sticking with them.

Releasing the tension when not in use is a more than excellent tip !
