So has anyone seen the relatively new
Tippmann m4-22 rifle? I just saw this thing last night and to be honest, seems like it answers a lot of people’s aftermarket interests on the 15-22.

It’s about damn time too. SW should have had something like this years ago at this point. The only thing they’ve done in all these years is change up the basic handguard. It’s competitively priced to boot.

+glad to see Tippmann getting in on actual firearms. I used to play paintball and loved their first generation A5.

Looks pretty good. I gave 319.00 + 8.00 shipping ( Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 Sport Rifle Black .22LR 16-inch 25rd ) for my 15-22 a couple of months ago. Who carries the Tippmann with a competitive price? In my particular case, I'd consider a competitive price to be up to 400.00 shipped.

Considering you get what you pay for...
an all metal semi auto rifle for 500 with working dust cover, forward assist, replaceable handguard that requires no special tools, and not needing to modify anything to get said handguard placed correctly...is within reason to me at least. The metal upper should in theory, add in the accuracy department as well.
It’s going to cost more working with metal, When yourinjection molding, you can afford to let your product go out the door for less.

Also, consider the cost of the handguard adapter nut and the original handguard nut removal tool if your ever interested in switching.

Oh ok. Gotcha. I thought it was basically being compared to the 15-22 as an alternative model at a price competitive to the 15-22. Looks nice and I wish the company well.

For some reason folks think .22s should cost a whole lot less than the same gun in centerfire............seems the .22 market tops out around $400 for the "General public"

cheap is synonymous with dangerous when referring to firearms. I’m a fan of a good deal like the rest but firearms I don’t mind paying a little more for.

Agree....... I laugh when folks say they see no reason to pay $100-200 more to get a CZ bolt gun vs a _____________ for $200.

If I didn't already have a good S&W 22-15 I'd consider one of these... after the "bata testing' is done and if the company is still in business!!!!

Cheap is cheap and good is good. Not necessarily mutually exclusive.

I've had a DPMS dedicated .22LR upper for quite some time now. Never a hick up and the accuracy is there. Can't comment on the Tippmann, but with so many proven platforms out there, why would I? The only drawback to the DPMS .22 upper is that there has always seemed to be a limited supply available.

The only reason i'd have to bear the weight of a metal .22 AR is so i could fit a .223 upper to it, which can't be done on this rifle, so it would be a pass for me.

yeah, this is a hard pass for me as well. I mean, I've got multiple ar-style 5.56 platforms already (worked with Spike when he had just one table at the Orlando gun shows), and a bad left shoulder which makes them difficult to fire offhand; my custom 15-22 is my favorite rifle to shoot now, with its light weight and affordable ammo

Had a fun couple hours at the range yesterday with my 15-22 and M&P .22 Compact.....couple/three hundred rounds of CCI for less than a $20 bill

No we're not unfortunately we have either 'straight-pull' guns that have no gas system and need to be manually cocked for each shot or interrupted cycle systems that have a gas system but they lock the bolt open after every shot, you then need to either press a lever or pull the trigger a second time to release the bolt for the next shot.

That's one thing I like about the DPMS .22 upper, among other things, like it using Black Dog mags.
