Tornado vs Train

The people in the motors were lucky they weren't derailed (or worse) too. People have no clue what winds of 100 or 150mph can do (and that's a small twister).

I had a summer job once that, among other duties, required the occacional placing an errent boxcar back onto tracks, no mean feat. What a gigantic fricking mess to put a train back on tracks. Trains are big, huge, giant, powerful, etc. But a Tornado......whew.

Unbelievable! I got hit in the Gulf of Mexico by a water spout and it did a real number on my sailboat and put me in the water for awhile, but a train. Wow.

The irony being that people always say a tornado sounds like a train coming. What a mess to clean up!

Pretty impressive!

I helped clean up de-railments in my younger days. We worked a big one near Jolly, TX back in '96 or '97 where a tornado had dumped a container train and had re-located one of the three engines completely upright with the trucks still attached about a 100yds off to the side of the tracks. I still ain't figured that one out.

In addition to that, about 30 containers broke open and it looked like Wal-mart had exploded all over the pasture.
