"Trade your broken gold for guns!", pleasant pawn shop experience in Roanoke, Va.

Went out to visit my Uncle for Christmas, he lives in Roanoke, Va., about five hours from me. We have no pawn shops or gold buyers in our neck of the woods, so I gathered up a little bit of gold to sell while I was out there, two rings, three charms and a necklace. I hoped to get about $500 or so for the gold.

Took the gold to the Town and Country Pawn Shop on Williamson Road in Roanoke, the nice lady weighed it and said she'd give $830....

$830! Woo-Hoo! She paid me in cash, then I checked out the gun rack. I have been looking for a shotgun (having none), and had my mind set to buy at some point a 12 gauge pump, either a Mossberg or a Remington, just as long as it was cheap. In the rack was a like new Remington 870 Express Magnum priced at $250, I offered $225 tax and fees included, and they accepted my offer. So I walked out of the pawn shop with a dandy shotgun and some gun buying money.

Met Forum Member Stonehorses after that and made a trade with her, very pleasant transaction, had even more gun buying money when we were done, so on my way home I ordered up a CZ 452 FS .22 bolt rifle, this one has a Mannlicher style stock. The CZ should be here by Friday, so looking forward to some range time with the CZ and the shotgun. Maybe I can finally learn how to hit clay birds...

So, go through your wifes jewelry box and trade in all of gold she doesn't like or wear anymore for guns!

I wouldn't be sleeping in the same room as a woman whose gold I just sold to buy a shotgun. Just sayin'...
