Tragedy in San Antonio tonight

The local ABC affiliate in Dallas led with that story and it surely sounds like a terrible tragedy. About the time I hear what I think is the most inhumane thing a human can do to another human, someone sets the bar higher.

How badly must you want to come here to allow someone to lock you in the back of a semi in this heat?

Not the first time something like that has happened. A bunch died in Victoria Texas doing the same thing. I also recall an incident where a bunch of illegals were hiding in tanker truck that had been converted by the coyotes to put people in, and they either baked or asphyxiated, I cannot remember which. I just remember that it was a sad collection of men, women and children who died a miserable death, and it stuck out in my mind because it was a disguised fuel truck. I'd have to dig deep to find that case, it was a decades or more ago.

It's easy to be callous about the stupidity, legality and social/political/economic situation of something like that, but they sure didn't deserve what they got.

Whenever I hear Americans bellyache and complain about how "unfair" our country is, or depict themselves as victims of this-or-that, I remind them that there are many thousands of people, from all over the world, who see this as a true land of opportunity, and who can't wait to get here.

I'll be praying tonight for the victims of this crime, and praying that the heartless predator who killed them is arrested and punished...

Miserable way to die, suffocate along with heat stroke?
God's speed.

Seems like this kind of "business" should be stopped or at least against the law. Joe

Alien smuggling is against the law, 8 USC 1324, getting prosecutors, except in high profile cases like this to accept the cases, is another matter. Sadly, the border is out of control, and that's probably all I can say without getting spanked. I spent 31 years in Border enforcement, and my opinion of what's currently happening would get me banned.

Tell the truth and run.
When I first read the old Serbian proverb " Reci pravo pa bež’ "
I thought to myself how sick a society must be to have that in the lexicon.

Yet here we are.

Our climate of censorship sickens me.

I do not know any details, but three suspects have been arrested. They must have somehow been connected with the death tractor-trailer. I have a strong suspicion that if any or all of them are convicted for something, it probably will involve no more than a light sentence. Something was mentioned on the news about the suspects being booked on weapons charges. No idea what that is about. Death count is now 51, still at least two more remaining in critical condition.

Private forum, private rules - censorship is a decision to keep the signal to noise ratio acceptable.

My opinion of the "person" who did this would take the paint of a battleship and years off the lives of the moderators ...

I'm not pointing at the mods, more our modern society that forces this on public speech.

This sort of thing unfortunately happens frequently - not so often so many in one location. Prayers for the victims and their families.

Murdering refugees

This kind of horrible disaster is not rare. My very good friend and long-time barber, Dave(RIP) was married to the ME for the state of Iowa. She had the grisly duty of dealing with the deaths of approximately 20 illegals locked in a train car which was abandoned in western Iowa. Dave said she had nightmares for weeks after that ghastly duty.

The horrendous treatment of people desperate for a better life is mind-blowing even to me in my 81 year.
