I'll be traveling to NC this weekend to attend a college graduation. There is formal written resiprocity between TN and NC. I have several questions about NC carry laws. So, here goes.

1) NC , open or concealed carry?

2) If concealed carry, does the firearms have to be on your person or is it considered concealed if in the console/glove box/under seat while I am in the vehicle?

3) Can I carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol if I am not drinking an alcoholic beverage?

4) Any restrictions on ammunition type? Hey I used to live in NJ and at a $100.00 fine per round for HP ammo you could be severly depleted of walkin round money if you got caught with two or three mags full of HP.

I already know that I can't carry/possess on campus or at school sponsored events.

Thanks for any and all info you NC guys can send my way.

The big for sure no-no is #3. You cannot carry into an establishment that serves alcohol.

1) Yes - both are legal, in certain areas
2) It is considered concealed in a vehicle if it is in the console, glove box, under the seat, etc.
3) No
4) Nope

Back to #1: no CC in banks, but OC is OK if no signs are posted at the entrance
Also, no CC if attending a place where admission is charged (think movies, ball games, etc.)
And #3: not only restaurants where alcohol is served, but any establishment where alcohol is sold and consumed is off limits
