Here is the closest thing I have to a trench shotgun:

This is a Mossberg 590 with a born on date of 1989. Featuring a heat shield, bayonet lug, and sling swivels, it has the spirit if in a modernized form.

8 rounds of 00 buckshot should get the job done.

I'd love to see your "trench" shotguns.

Years ago I also owned a Mossberg 590 like yours, and it was a great pump shotgun! I also had a SWAT trade-in Remington 870 which was sweet. However, a year or so ago I decided to switch to a semi-auto. I didn't think that I would ever need to use a bayonet (although it looks really cool!), and I wanted to get away from a pump. I compared the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol with the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical, but I liked the features and ergonomics on the Beretta- and found that a weapon light was much more useful than a bayonet for home defense or while on road trips. It's also very easy to accessorize. I always wished I had a Winchester Model 97 trench shotgun, and maybe I'll get one someday...more for nostalgia than anything else! Enjoy!

My ONG 870 Wingmaster takes a bayonet, but I dought it would be considered a trench gun.

mine is a fake tribute gun.. a real Stevens 520-30.. but made for Montgomery Wards post WWII.. and I had it converted to a trench gun.. "Uncle Vern" had one, and I was fascinated by it growing up... it was given to another person.. so I had one made for me as a tribute to him..

This is as close to a USMC Remington M870 MK 1 as I will get. We had them when I was a Guard Chief at a Marine Barracks. I ended up working for the USMC Security Force Battalion as a weapons instructor for Combat Pistol and Combat Shotgun. The receiver and stock are an Remington 870 Express. The barrel and magazine extension with bayonet lug are USMC issue. Many, many moons ago the shotgun cost me $189.00 when I was stationed in Ca. I bought the barrel and extension at a gun show for $125.00. I actually used it when teaching Comat Shotgun to the Navy at NS Long Beach, Ca. I saw one sell at Morphy Auctions about three years ago for $15,000.00. https://auctions.morphyauctions.com...870_WINGMASTER_TRENCH_GUN_SLID-LOT523537.aspxCombat Shotgun Instructor Cert..jpg
