Trends You Simply Can't Stand...Feel Free To Vent Here

Two questions:
1) Why is it “absurd”
2) Who defined the limitations on what pockets are to be used for?

🤔

I started my reply with, "I think," indicating that it is a personal opinion. But, yea, I think that pockets are lousy holsters.
I like to carry a "pocket knife" in my POCKET. Some prefer to carry their knives in a pouch on their belt. Just like anything your weapon, your choice . Happy Independence Day!

“Revolver”. The cylinder rotates.

NASA says… "Rotation" refers to an object's spinning motion about its own axis. "Revolution" refers the object's orbital motion around another object
The cylinder rotates (spins) around on it's axis enabling the individual cartridges to revolve around that same axis to precisely align with the karma correction position. All better. Semantics....

Good forum, entertaining topic. Thanks to all contributors.
Guns are machines used as tools to accomplish serious tasks.
There are no dangerous machines, only dangerous machine operators- (from US Army safety lectures)
I prefer my Smith & Wesson over my Glock. I prefer my DeWalt over my Ryobi. All are fine machines.

Calling a barrel a "tube" grates on me.

About 40 years ago I got tired of writers saying they paid a "princely sum" for every other gun they bought in the old days.

Also sick of posters calling something "interesting" when "interesting" that is not what they mean.

"Followed me home", "pulled the trigger" and "picked up" (instead of bought) are still the worst... by far.

I also see people shooting rifles with the thumb laid along beside the rifle instead of over the grip.......I want to buy them a CONE HAT.
Crusty old Marine sniper taught me this…at 1000+ yards every little bit to reduce twisting movement helps.

Don't get me started ... I have several !
Today it's the must have silencer ...
Every gun you own does NOT need a beer can sized silencer screwed on the end of the barrel ... I don't know why every You-Tube Expert has decided that silencers are now a must have necessity of life ... Just Say No !

Marketing. Having said, i greatly appreciate the Rugged Obsidian .45 on my house Glock. With subsonic ammo I don't have to worry that shots fired indoors will cost me my hearing.

The descriptive words run or running for firearms and related accessories. “ it runs good with this ammo” I run a red dot, scope, weapon light , IWB holster etc. And it seems instead of being given something, it is now gifted, whether it was a gift or not.

Or, "my gun shoots better than I can."

My guns just lay there and don't do anything by themselves. 🙄

Electric bicycles, I thought riding a bike was for exercise.
One can still get some pretty good exercise on an e-bike. And when age, injury and ailment set it, an e-bike can be the difference between getting some good exercise, or rotting in front of the TV.

Calling yesterday's holiday "July 4th" rather than Independence Day. Do we say "Happy December 25th" or "Merry Christmas?"
On a similar note, turkey day.

We do not say "happy colored eggs day", or "happy unwrap presents day", or even "happy go out in costume and beg for candy day". So where did this turkey day garbage come from?
