I'm pretty much a newbie to all of this - just purchased an M&P9 after not having a handgun for a long, long time. I'm considering (after reading a lot of posts) getting a trigger job done on it. The two options are sending it back to S&W for the 'M&P PISTOL ACTION PACKAGE' or sending it to Burwell Gunsmithing. It would seem that there's an advantage with a new gun to sending it back to S&W since the warranty stays in effect. I'm assuming that sending it to Burwell would mean voiding the warranty. Is there enough additional benefit from sending it to Burwell to consider this route?

Good question, I'll be waiting for response to this one as well.

Last I heard, Burwell was really backlogged and referring work to someone else. You may want to check into it as that may also affect your decision.

Historically, anything that is modified by somone other than S&W voids the warranty for the parts that were changed.

I'm at this point with my 1911DK. I'm doing my homework. I'd like to hear from anyone that sent their pistol back to S&W. If Smith's workmanship is as good as it's suppose to be...I won't hesitate to use them. If the customer responses are mixed I'll shop elsewhere or leave the pistol stock.
