Does anyone have experience with these? Maybe a photo of the sight picture? Also, does the paint come off of the front sight or dull out after shooting for awhile? How is the durability and brightness. I appreciate any insight.

At the NRA Convention yesterday seeing the recent NS inovations was high on my agenda. The one that I liked the best was Trijicon's new HD with the yellow ring front. The rear is a big U-notch, all black with dual tritium tubes (no rings). The front yellow ring is very bright in color, large, has lumenesent paint, and a green tritium tube. Both the tube and ring are completely covered with a saphire lens. I found this set up to have very quick target alignment and stands out very well.

Go to the trijicon site Trijicon as they have details and pictures of the Heavy Duty Sights. Bill

Nice...now that does sounds nice. Maybe they will put something like that on the M&P's soon or at least give it as an option.

I just installed them on my 40C pictures will be up shortly.

What does it take to install these? Are you better off just taking it to a gunsmith? How much could one expect to pay for that service?

Good questions Jon. I would like to know the same things. Can't wait to see those pics Green! Do they shoot POA?

Had them installed on all three of my M&P's. They all shoot to the exact POA! Cost about $25.00 to have them install at my local gun shop. Pictures are of the sights on my M&P 40C.

Great pics Green! Thank you for sharing those. I do believe I'm sold on them now. Thanks for pricing info as well. I thought it would have been more.

I lucked out I have a great gun shop here locally. They are great sites. That is why they are on pretty much everything I own that they will fit.

Great info green, I been considering putting some night sights on my M&P40c also. I think I just made up my mind on which ones to get. Thanks!

Just spoke with my LGS. They said $40 to install night sights. Sounds good to me!

Hey guys, I have been looking all over for a pair of these in orange. Does anyone have any leads on where to find a pair?

I have a set on my CS9 as well as a M&P 45.Green front with yellow rear on both sets.No problems with the rings yet.Bought both sets through Optics Planet.

Yeah, I tried OpticsPlanet. They don't have an active inventory system, so I called and they don't have the orange in stock.

Anyone have first hand experience in the front dot color? Which do you prefer? So far, I'm leaning towards the orange.

Be VERY careful about ordering from OpticsPlanet. As noted above, they don't have a realtime inventory system, so they'll take your money and potentially leave you with a 4 week wait while they drop ship from Trijicon, and 4 weeks is the lead time Trijicon and a lot of other sites like Brownells are quoting now. I have a yellow front set arriving tomorrow from OpticsPlanet, but CALL before you order, I could have easily ordered their last set. Yellow looked brighter to me, but that's totally subjective. Orange might be more contrast for people who like that, people who like "bright" might be drawn to yellow, like me. Both are big honkin' dots that are quick to pick up, so beyond that it's personal taste and your personal eyesight. Get the one your eye is drawn to.

G&R Tactical MIGHT have Orange, it says "Out of stock" but that might be referring to Yellow, Grant's site makes it unclear. Give him a call:
Trijicon S&W M&P HD Night Sights at G&R Tactical
Phone 330-343-2800 Fax: 330-602-2425
Grant is good people.

I tried G&R also, they are out of stock too. I'm striking out left and right.

I've tried quite a few night sights, and finally settled on Ameriglo Operators from Bowie tactical.
Bowie Tactical Concepts Home Page
They emphasize the front sight both day and night. During the day the rear sight appears black, and the front appears to be a white dot. During the night there are two small yellow glows in the rear, but a very pronounced green glow "on the target."
I found them soon after I hit that point in life where I started needing glasses, and they helped an awful lot with rapid sight acquisition!
