Hey guys these are available now. Please click the website and select the threaded option to order. Our first pre-orders shipped and we now have live stock. These are 416R polished stainless steel that is broach cut. Threaded 1/2x28 and have a neat/unique dimpled pattern. They include a thread protector and Viton (high temp) tension o-ring to lock down the thread protector. These are US designed and machined here in Powder Springs Ga. If you shoot multiple thousand dollar 1911s you may be using the same broach cut barrel blanks as us. The Shield performed great with a large amount of ammo during testing. We pumped 1000s of rounds of the following ammo through:
Maxxtech 115gr Steel
Monarch 115gr lacquered steel
Freedom 115gr Reman
Cheap Federal bulk pack 115gr
CCI Blazer Brass 115gr
Remington UMC 115gr
American Eagle 115gr
Winchester (White Box) 124gr FMJ
Federal HST 124gr JHP (Standard Pressure)
Speer Gold Dot 124gr (+P)
Hornady Critical Duty 135gr Flex Point
Winchester Train & Defend 147gr T/C
Browning BXP 147gr X-Point
The barrel performed flawlessly with all types above. We also jury-rigged our Ransom Rest and clamped it down as best we could (still had a bit of wiggle). We put a 32rd (4 Mag) group in to paper at 20yds and tore a nice hole. A few flyers from reloading and shaking the rest on the rotting wooden bench. We think we can get it much tighter.
