What would be your choice of these 2 ammos? Are they about the same in Accuracy and Reliability?

Can get the Brown Bear 500 rounds 55gr HP for $125 Shipped.

Can get the Tulammo 500 rounds 55gr FMJ for $118.59 Shipped.

I faced this exact decision, although in .380 and 9mm Mak and went with Tulammo based solely on price. All I'm doing with this ammo is blowing holes in paper and it does fine.

This is just my opinion. Buy a couple of boxes of each brand of ammo. Fire them using good marksmanship technique, etc. Give attention to function, etc. If all results are equal, buy the Tulammo 55 gr. FMJ's. For my part I've used Wolf steel cased 55 gr. FMJ's in my COLT Hbar with complete success. Function and on target results have been fully equal to those obtained using ball ammo from domestic producers. I would imagine that the Brown Bear of Tulammo ball would be about the same as the Wolf. Again, this is just my opinion. But in trying to find an economical way to enjoy shooting my rifles, this is a method I have followed. HTH. Sincerely. brucev.

I have been using Tulammo 9MM for a while now . Works fine for practice . I have been averaging about 3 misfires / 50 rounds . But for the price I expected this and a dirty gun .

Years ago the russian barnaul ammo was the best quality ammo to come out of russia. I've heard the bear brand of ammo is manufactured by barnaul but i'm not sure yet.

I been shooting the wolf brand for many years. I been buying the tula and wolf in the 223/55gr FMJ. I been shooting the wolf 45acp, 9mm luger and 9mm mak for eons. Without ever a problem. Bill

Hey,

I use the Tulla on my hand gun but would not use it on my rifle....

First off keep in mind that these are steel casing and some ranges will not allow you to shoot steal ammo (Atleast where I'm at, 1 of 3 ranges will turn you away)

I can't say specifically for the one you are looking at but a lot of these cheaper rounds are laquer coated. Using it on your hand gun with a magazine of no more then 17 you wont cause any real problems.

But when you are firing them on your rifle in larger quantities your chamber is getting hotter and hotter at one point the laquer on the rounds starts melting.

So if you happen to chamber a round in between firing while the chamber is still hot and let it sit there for a couple minutes. that round will get stuck to your chamber. There are some videos online showing rounds stuck in the chamber and how hard it is to remove them.

Lastly keep in mind that these are very very dirty rounds.

So giving the size and quanity issue, I use them in my hand guns because they are so cheap but would not fire them from my rifle.

brown bear works real nice in my ar i use the 62 gr hps with no issues the tula also works but not as acc or powerfull.ive shot around 500 rds at one time at the range with brown bear and my gun was dirty but worked just fine.have gotten quite a few coyotes with the hps all one shot kills.
