Hello All,

Finally spring, and the Tulsa Gun Show is close, and we sure are ready for both. We are again trying to get a count on members who would like to attend the Southwest Bunch barbecue and social. We have been asked for a little more detail, so here goes. The show is the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd.
The barbecue is Saturday Night, April 2nd. We usually have the doors open by 6:00and start to serve the meal about 7:00. Our location is just down the hall south of the main desk. Contact info for the hotel where we hold the barbecue is:

Best Western Airport Inn - Tulsa
222 N. Garnett Rd.
Tulsa, OK 74116

Their website is Tulsa International Airport Hotels - Best Western Tulsa Airport Hotel, email is [email protected]. Telephone is (918)438-0780.

Please send us names and how many are planning to come so that we can have most of the name tags made and supplies laid in. This also helps us purchase what is needed and not much extra, thereby holding the cost as low as possible.

Please respond to: [email protected].

Thank you,
Ken & Virginia Cheely

Two of us from Montana had hoped to attend.

Unfortunately other responsibilities have intruded.

Maybe the Fall Show?

My wife and I plus her Aunt will be attending the show this year. It has been several years since my wife and I have been to the show. We used to go to the spring and fall shows every year until I retired in 2002.

Found out that I needed to work part time to suppliment the income and that meant working weekends.

I had a heart attack in June of 2010 and am disabled now. Health is better so we are going to the show again.

I will let you know both here and by email if we will attend the BBQ. I would really like to come but this is a voting household. :)

I am considering going there. Never been there before and have a couple that have been friends for many years living in that area so I could visit with them while there.

My questions, trying to stay within the rules.

1. As I understand and respect, it appears the vendors are all law abiding people. To buy a handgun out of state, I need to pay for it and they ship it to my FFL. Is this correct?

2. Is buying from out of town strangers risky? I mean what assurances are there the guns purchased will be shipped?

3. I might buy 3-4 guns and I might not buy any but I think it would be a fun place to go. Is there anything else to do at the show other than look and buy? Some of the vendors at the local shows uses some very pretty attractions to sell their wares and I find myself spending a lot of time looking at their products while admiring their sales people.

4. If I choose to buy some long guns, am I correct in assuming I can do so out of state and after a background check be allowed to walk away with the guns to bring home with me?

Hi All,

Just a friendly reminder that Tulsa is just two weeks away. We will be placing our order with Rib Crib soon so wanted to give you a chance to RSVP if you haven’t already. If you have already replied, thank you!

Looking forward to seeing all of you in Tulsa.

My brother and I will be in attendance this year. This is our first time at the Tulsa Gun show. I am hoping to get an opportunity to spend some quality time with other S&W collectors and hope to find a few sets of grips for my SB S&W 686 and RB S&W 19.
