William Boyd appeared at a grocery store in my town when I was about 7 years old. Check out that cowboy hat.:)

I was but one of many hundred that gathered there to see Hopalong Cassidy.

He was doing a promotion for Bond Bread at the time.

My cousin who is 74 years old, belonged to the Hopalong Cassidy club and still has his membership card and all sorts of memorabilia he received in the mail.

And a little eye candy to drool over.

A whizzer.

I grew up on the Lone Ranger TV Show,He was always one of My Hero's. It's too bad the Movie versions could not capture the the essence of the TV version.
I remember when the first Lone Ranger Movie came out Clayton Moore was suposed to be in it as the aging Lone Ranger and was to pass His Mask to the new One, He refused to do it because He said the way the Actor lived was not up to the standards of the Ranger and He didnt want to tarnish the image.

When my wife, Miss Patti was a little girl, the Lone Ranger picked her out of a large crowd and took her up in his arms and put her on Trigger`s back. To this day she still remembers it the event most fondly as one of the highlights of her life.

I just got a text from Roy Rogers.
He wants Trigger back, he wants him back right now!

I think the Lone Ranger's horse was Silver. Roy Rogers had Trigger and the dog stuffed when they died, he said when he died he wanted to be stuffed and put on Trigger, I guess that left Dale out in the cold. :D Maybe she got to ride in Nellie Bell.

Did anybody watch the Cisco Kid and Pancho? His embellished outfits and saddle were amazing. Mike 2796

I did and loved the show. They were played on Sunday mornings before you got two episodes of The Lone Ranger. The Christain Broadcasting network played all kinds of Westerns all day every Sunday. This was back in the early eighties and well before the network changed for the worse.

And if we get another foot of snow Sun/Mon your going to be stuffed.;) Big Mouth:D;)

I forgot to mention--this is for Hoppy fans. Currently at Wm--at least in my area--they are selling a set of dvds which im guessing--are all the Hoppy movies you saw as kids.I thought of getting it but--dont care much for stuff churned out by cheapo dvd "puppy" mills like Mill Creek.

I wonder when someone will finally get around to putting out a complete set of Hoot Gibson and Harry Carey Sr--Westerns.....

From what they are saying we might get more than that, we had a little this morning, we lucked out on the last one we only got about 3" when It turned to rain.

The "Long Ranger"

Yep, many of us kids thought it was the "Long Ranger." We learned later that he was really the Lone Ranger. Heck, we were from Brooklyn, NY, what did we know?

I also recall watching Roy Rogers with his pair of chromed SAA .45s. I think "Gunsmoke" also had its start in the 50s.
