I'd post this in the Lounge or "Other Brands" Forums but this could so easily be a 19th century S&W top break that I don't recognize I figured I'd be bold and post it here.

Imagine my surprise as I watched a 1950s era episode of Peter Gunn and this revolver appeared. Usually, this show has only snubby Colts or S&Ws from the proper time period.

Anyone recognize this revolver?

Oh, the words are just the closed caption conversation - not important at all.

Looks a lot like a H&R that my lady inherited from her grandfather.

These types were common up to the 1940's

Based on trigger guard shape, the visible pins in the frame and the locking notches I would say it is an Iver Johnson 4'th model top break. Barrel looks to have been shortened and front sight not replaced. I collected these for a while, neat little guns and rather innovative for their time
