I recently got into 4506-1's. Got two of them in the last month .

Would like to share my experience.

1). A 4506-1 was one owner pistol , hardly used at all with LPA sights ( original Novak rear is in the box, so are the original grips).
Hogue rubber grips are on the gun.

2). 4506-1 with factory adjustable sights. This one was also mint one owner pistol. Was done by Actions by T. Beautiful work!

I fired Federal Match 185's and 230's. Fired our duty Federal 230+P HST JHP's and our old issue Federal Hi Shock 230's.

Both guns ate everything. At seven yards hand held ALL SHOTS are touching. At 25 and 50 yards they both shoot like a stock 1911 with a good trigger and quality duty ammo. ( good enough for me).

What REALLY stand out is how easy they are to pack with a good belt and quality holster. Not any different than packing a full size 1911.

Also , even with +p loads , I can shoot them REALLY fast and accurately.

I qualified to carry the first one. On the 50rd course my score was 98% .With most stages fired in HALF TIME. When I went to clean it and reload, there was still one round in my pocket......:)

GREAT guns . Easy to shoot fast , reliable and make a great impact weapon:) LOL

The 4506 no dash or the -1...the best 45's there is IMHO. My 4506 is 20 years old and never(did I say never?) had any failures. You can't say that for most makes or models.

Finding a holster for a 4506 is a bit of a challenge though.

Sounds great! Umm, however:

Yes. The hooked trigger guard of the 92FS and the 4506 are very similar. I use a 92FS "quick slide" for my 4506.
