Recently picked up two more Victory Models, both British Commonwealth Lend Lease revolvers.

pistols

The top one in the photo is a 5", .38 S&W caliber, marked "United States Property" on left top strap, "WB" and a flaming bomb on the butt, serial number V128857, and marked "NZ" "7609"with a broad arrow at the top of the grip frame. I understand this one wound up with New Zealand Forces during WW2.

The bottom one is a 5", .38 S&W caliber, marked "United States Property" on left top strap, "WB" and flaming bomb on the butt, serial number 800291 (no "V" pre-fix), also marked "FTR/MA54", "L" over a "26" with a broad arrow, and "DD" with a broad arrow. I think these marks indicate it went through a re-work in Australia, perhaps the Lithgow arsenal?

This makes seven Victory Models for me,four 5" .38 S&W Lend Lease revolvers, three .38 Special 4" revolvers, one marked "U.S. Navy". Now I just need to find a South African and Canadian Victory Model to round out the Victory Model collection.

May there be mercy on your soul. No end to Victory collections. Give up. There is always another variation!

Nice collection canoeguy. The FTR/MA54 on your Australian service victory translates to factory thorough repair so it was indeed re-worked. The MA
stamp is the "Made in Australia" abbreviation that the Lithgow works used to denote production at its armoury, the other main Australian designations being 'BA','OA' for Bathurst and Orange. The 54 component denotes the year of 1954 for the re-work.
