I'm having a trigger issue with my two-tone Smith 3914. The trigger doesn't always reset after being pulled. In other words, it's as if the trigger assembly is just missing the hammer on the second pull. I'm smart enough to know I need professional help on this one. The questions: should I run this to the smith over at Gander Mountain to look at before I do anything, or should I just bite the bullet and call Smith for a trip back to Mass. for the gun? Anyone have any experience with Smith customer service? Should I get the Advil now, or can I expect good things?

I would call S&W customer service and tell them the problem with the gun. No need to tell them anything extra, like you're not the original owner or you dropped it off a cliff, just what going on with the gun. They will most likely send you a pickup tag and check it out. If they don't repair it under warrenty they will call you with a repair price for your approvial before doing anything. It sounds like a broken drawbar or worn sear, either way it would be most likely covered and turn around is usually 2-3weeks.
