Is there talk of new legislation and everyone is hoarding? How come no one is carrying these products?

Novartis OTC is conducting maintenance and improvements at our Lincoln, Nebraska facility, which manufactures Theraflu®. As a result, we are experiencing a supply disruption at some retailers and Theraflu® may be temporarily unavailable. We are working as quickly as we can to return these products back on to store shelves. We ask that you check back periodically for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you, and appreciate your patience and loyalty.

That explains one, didn't lookup the others but I haven't heard anything

The good stuff goes off the market for whatever reason. Alka-Seltzer Plus was bought and the old fizzy stuff is gone. It worked great, the new not so much. Had a little green pill years back that would clear your sinus overnight. It is banned in the US cause meth makers liked it, Canada still has it for sell.

I remember my old Daddy telling me about the depression- how it started with layoffs, and shortages, irregular deliveries. Until finally, there was nothing to buy, and no money to pay for it even if there were anything. But that could never happen again.:o

Why buy Tylenol when the generics are exactly the same thing and half the price??

I don't need Imodium but am sure there is a store brand for that also:eek:

My father was born in 1913 and lived through the depression and spent the rest of his life, he passed away at 94, preparing for the next one. He missed it by a few years but I learned the lesson well and am as ready as you can be for tough times.
A little bit of everything on hand, enjoyed the hell out of living below our means.
Bullets and beans will be very valuable one day soon.
I see a lot of people who think it can never happen here. If the worlds number 2 super power can collapse there's no reason to think we are immune.

Generic Tylenol? I have had more than one pharmacist and a physician and others tell me that the store brand version of Tylenol is not as good.

They say store brand ibuprofen is fine, but that I should try to find the real Tylenol, if possible.

Not that the store brand doesn't work, but, they say, it doesn't work as well.

I like the original, and now I want the green pill too! I also think it is very strange that Tylenol has been gone for a long time.

I don't have a clue what the difference is between Tylenol and the generic, if there is any. All I know is what I have been told several times by different medical professionals.

I don't know if it's the source, the color, the taste, the... whatever.

But, in my personal experience, I have found that Tylenol seems to be more effective for me than the generic store brands.

If I can't find Tylenol, then I do buy the store brand, but, so far in the current shortage at least, I have been able to find the Tylenol.

Maybe these folks are wrong and it's all the same, but I don't know of any reason they'd steer me wrong or make up something. And, they were different people at different times.

Maybe a conspiracy?

They may be stock holders in Johnson & Johnson (Tylenol makers) :D:rolleyes::D

Tylenol was recalled due to some contamination or something. Excedrin has been missing for a year due to manufacturing problems.
Generics/store brands are OK, but not as good as the real thing. Makes you wonder......
