While eating lunch I had C-Span on watching a Senate Hearing on improving recreational use and access on Public Lands (National Forrest, BLM, National Parks). The hearing was chaired by WVa Senator Joe Manchin. Folks from the different agencies were making statements and a VP of Vista Outdoors which owns Remington Ammunition was also on the panel. In his opening statement he addressed the different uses, etc. and then stated the there needed to be more areas developed on the lands for recreational / target shooting and hunting. Spoke about how the sport had grown in the last two years, etc. and more was needed in this regard.
Interesting. I had errands to run so didn't get a chance to see if any Senators followed up with questions to him or others about that topic.
