I will not waste my money on Ultramax ammunition again. I have a blown out case stuck in the barrel. This is not the first time i have had a problem in this box of ammo . I believe it to be dangerous to the user.

How about when you open a box of 40S&W and find about a half dozen 9mm sprinkled in. Happens way to often.

My rule regarding Ultramax is the Nancy Reagan Rule: Just say no.

I've got a couple of boxes of .223 sitting here. Only fired about 20 rounds of it through my Stag AR, with no issues so far. Never heard of any trouble with it until now.

The only SERIOUS problems I've seen have been with their .223 ammo. A young friend of mine had an AR blown up by a round of their .223 that was evidently loaded with two 55gr. bullets in one case. That was a bit over a year ago, and they may have fixed their QC problems since then, but if I were going to use their ammo, I'd weigh every round before I shot any.

My experience has been way different. The Ultramax 68 grain match load is the most accurate I've fired out of both my AR and my Savage FP. Out of the Savage I get amazing sub MOA groups. Last fall I took a splendid 8pt with a neck shot using that same ammo. DRT. Never had a hint of trouble with this ammo.

What load are you using?
