Unusual Randall Blade...

Buddy I normally buy a few blades from came across
this Randall over the weekend.
Smithsonian model brass capped.
Solid bass grip which I can only assume is a replacement.
Original sheath long gone.
How do you Randall guys think ?

Looks pretty heavy duty. I doubt it is factory, and if it has no specific collector value, I might be tempted to send that to a blade smith, and have it reconditioned. It would be a shiny piece

YES, they do! I sent them an early '60s 7" right hand finger groove hunter. It came back fantastic, with a pretty quick turnaround.

This is a before pic. I don't have an after pic handy, but it's mirror bright and sharp now.

I believe at one point Randall sold kits. Maybe that Smithsonian Bowie is, in whole or in part, from a kit?
