Sailing on the Bay a few days ago, I adopted this old Brauer
Brothers Crossdraw Paddle. If anyone has an old Brauer catalog
it is a model H23. It was crying out for help, and rehabbing these
old-timers is one of my favorite passtimes, and it was only twenty
bucks delivered.

It was made for Colt's Detective Special, Cobra, and Agent. I
thought it would be perfect for my Agent because the strap goes
over the trigger guard instead of the hammer, and I had removed
the hammer spur and single action notch on my Agent, making it
a true double action only (DAO).

Here are some BEFORE and AFTER photos. I sure do hope you
can tell which ones are before and which ones are after.

Phil, I believe that's a loop holster someone modified by cutting off the loop strap, not a real paddle holster in other words. You can see evidence of where the strap was originally. I would be wary of relying on the rather thin weak pliable "paddle" to keep the rig in your pants.

Point well taken -db-. I was a little suspicious when I looked
at that cut line. My first thought was to have my saddle maker
sew across and make a belt loop out of it.

Here is my favorite Brauer Holster. It is a Moose Brand Holster Model H1 made by Brauer Brothers. It fits a .25 automatic (Colt Vest Pocket). I was told that since it has the patent information on the strap it is most likely prewar.

If you look closely at the photo in #12 above, you can see the trigger
guard on the Agent does not go all the way back, as it should, in the
holster. Looks like I also got some wrong information about what guns
the holster was supposed to fit. I tried the next larger gun, that I have,
s&w model 10 with 2" barrel. Perfect fit. See photo below.

I hope this is the end of this story. I'm sure you do too.
