I don't like the idea of a bulky fifty round drum and paying an arm and a leg for them. I have found a good handful of tinkers on this site that i bet can invent and sell aluminum couplers for mp mags.

Did some more google-fu on this subject. Read the reviews, someone talks about using them on his mp22. What he states is kinda confusing though

Works well with my S&W MP15-22 25-round magazines. Only issue is it's just a little hard to load the mags when you get to one of the couplers but I expected that problem. Have to sacrifice something for looks!

What we call a "recruit trick." At least the .22LR trick isn't that heavy. Guys bring these to carbine courses all the time. Most are removed by the end of the first hour or two shooting as they get in the way, get the ammo dirty, etc.
