And I am sure the people in the other lanes thought I was demented because I was cracking up as I shot it

That little thing looked like a baby fire breathing dragon with the gases and flame venting through those ports and i just could not stop laughing. My groups were a little more fist than quarter size at 7 yards, but it was the best i could do between giggles. I don't know why, but that little thing trying to puff up and look big just tickled my funny bone and cracked me up.

But all levity aside, this is a great shooting gun, and will be part of my carry rotation pretty quickly. I shot 100 rounds 115gn and 50 rounds of 124gn. It fed both without any hiccups at all. I would have liked to put some 147 downrange too, but forgot to throw a box in the bag.

Despite its size, recoil was a non-event, and the porting kept follow up target acquisition absolutely effortless.

I have a 6 year old M&P9 Pro Series all original, and i see the M&P trigger has improved since 2010. I think I will finally buy the Apex kit for the 9PS.

The Shield 9PC was an impulse buy, and i am glad i did it. It can proudly take its place with the 39-2, 4 third gennies and its big brother 9PS.

If any of you are women, or have significant others who are, and have wondered about its suitability as a woman's carry, wonder no longer. Strongly recommended.

Two thumbs up (and several giggles) from me.

Did anybody else laugh when they shot little mini-port dragon breather for the first time, or am i truly demented?:D

My wife only hits the range occasionally with me and doesnt really care for my FS 9 (nor my compact when i had it), but when she tried my new Shield PC, instead of handing it back to me after a mag's worth, she actually said "I kinda like it, can i shoot it again". Again as she is more of a plinker w/ my .22's, i thought that said volumes on the new PC and how well she handled it.

Side note, quite the enjoyable post you had there lol; guess i didnt think of a dragon when i was shooting mine, though now it will be in the back of my head next range visit. And i'm old enough to now have that song 'Puff the magic dragon' playing in my mind.
;)

Took the ShieldPC to the range again for some more work.

Didn't laugh this time, but it still looks like an itty bitty dragon when being fired.

This little thing is the bomb. Kept all ammo at 115gn this week, left the heavier 9mm at home. Change up this time is in addition to ball, i threw some hollow point down it. No problem, no failures of any sort. Fed everything fine.

This is a great shooting gun. I just got better and better with every round. Love the hi-viz sights. Minimal muzzle flip and those sights make follow up shots a breeze. I took several others with me, so only put about 150 rounds downrange. Next time i will take only this one so i can work on several distances and nail down the sight picture.

I have been shooting at an indoor range. Couple in the lane next to me were first time shooters. They had rented a sig m11a1 and a glock 43. Both liked the sig, but i could tell she didn't like the glock. I have several S&Ws and Sigs, no glocks. Not a fan girl, don't like the grip.

I wanted her first experience to be a good one, and not to leave thinking she could not do it because it didnt feel comfortable. I offered her a few rounds with the shield, and her only question was "does it have a grip like this one (43) or this one (sig)? I told her it was more like the sig. She said good, that the glock swell fit in the palm of her hand in a funny place that didnt feel right. I laughed and said same here, try this. She loved the shield, so fella had to shoot it too. Don't think the gun store sold a glock today. Maybe a sig maybe a shield maybe both LOL.

So the Shield PC has a couple more fans. My work here is done, til next time ;)
