When using an Uplula to load M&P Shield magazines, if you don't keep them straight in the channel, they won't load. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the 1911 attachment with the Shield magazines. Do they fit or if not, can you file them out to fit?

Did you see this thread (still on page 1)?: Suggestions for a Cheap Loader
It was discussed there.
Load your shield mag and look through the witness holes. You'll see that the Shield is not a true Single-Stack. It's a staggered-stack mag and wider than a true Single-Stack, just not as wide as a true Double-Stack.

I've never had the problem you describe, using my UpLula. I've used it to load both Single and Double-Stack mags, from .380 up to .45. [shrug]

+1 UpLula works great for my Shield 9, M&P 40, Kahr CW40 and HiPoint 40 carbine magazines.

No problems with the Uplula and my Shield 9. It would be hard to force a problem with it. Are you sure you are using it correctly ?

I am using it correctly, but when loading a bunch of mags fast for other shooters, you have to make sure it's straight in the Uplula. I just want to know if anyone has tried the 1911 adapter with their shield mags, nothing more.

Never had problems loading any mags. So no,never tried it.

Then... As mentioned in my original reply...
The Shield mag is wider than a 1911 (true Single-Stack) and probably too wide for the 1911 Adapter. :)

+ to most of the above! I use the UpLula on 9mm, 40SW, & 45ACP. Single stack, double stack...it doesn't matter, it works fine. As I've said before my only problem with the UpLula is that I didn't invent it!

I'm going to order one and if the mag doesn't fit, I'll look it over and see if it can be filed out, which from looking at pictures, I think it can be. I just want to see if it's any faster.
