Thanks for posting. That was cool seeing all that vintage equipment in action. Got a chance to see a piece of equipment being used in the film that I was just recently made aware of. It's that mobile multiple recoil-less rifle set up.

I'd never seen it before that I can remember, but received photos recently of hubby's late uncle with that equipment in the background.
That is Uncle Mike chowing down from the shiny cam, and the breech end of that multiple recoil-less rifle is to the upper right.

Uncle Mike servicing the multiple recoil-less rifles of this six-shooter called the "M50 Ontos". Ontos means "Thing" in Greek.

Since it's a Marine recruit thread, this is Mike's graduating class photo. He is front row, 2nd from left.

1961 is about the time that one of my friends joined.(at the prompting of the local PD, who suggested that he was destined for jail if he didn't join the military) So, he joined at age 16.First day in, he had an argument with a DI, much smaller than he is.The outcome of that encounter, was that he lost four molars on his lower jaw. After 13 months in Nam, they offered him an early discharge if he stayed in country for another six months. He took the offer, and was out at age 19.

Left for PISC at 05:00 50 years ago tomorrow morning....what an adventure serving with the few and the proud! It was not a Rose Garden! Semper Fi!

I would like to thank all of those who served our nation. My step-daughter is a USMC reservist, 21 years in, half of that on active duty, once again on active duty. Last year she was promoted to E8 (MSgt), plans on E9 before retiring.
