Some foreign contract guns and the Country where they were going to demanded that the guns be marked with the Country and Yr/mfg'r.
So US23 (United States 2023) got marked on them.
I was told the marking was placed in several spots on the gun.
Some AR's sold like this as well.
As stated, not all of the guns made the trip over seas, so they ended up being wholesaled here.
