I’ve been with USAA insurance for about 35 years. Always been satisfied with their service. But their premiums have gotten way too high.

Has anyone ditched them and regretted it? Or is my loyalty for nothing?

Have been with them longer than that.
I recently moved my home insurance back there from Leavenworth.
Those nice Army folks jumped my Home Insurance a bunch!
My Auto insurance has gone up, but I guess I’m thinking about the actual inflation rate.
You might want to get some quotes from local folks.

I hear the same things about their competition. Auto repairs have gotten very expensive.

Some of my family members live on the Texas Gulf Coast and they are happy to have USAA for homeowners, because some of the other companies are not even covering wind or storm damage anymore.

Every insurance company is too high. My combined insurance premiums (Residential and car) has doubled in two years, with no changes in coverage and no claims.

I've been with State Farm for 30 years and their auto rates have went way up over the last two years. No accidents. Agent told me repair cost went way up, even said new windshields can cost $2K to replace now due to what in them.

I checked rates at USAA and Progressive and there was no savings.

It sucks and there seems to be no competition, rather follow the leader as prices go up.

I've also been with USAA about 35 years for home and auto. Only a couple of claims but they were easy to deal with. They won't carry my farm insurance so a local agent with State Farm takes care of that and quoted for all my business a few years ago at higher rates than USAA.

I live in Florida, where HO insurance is too high "if" you can get it. USAA is the lowest cost to me. How good is its coverage? Only time will tell.

If you have to replace your windshield, insist, insist, INSIST on a factory OE windshield or any autoglass - especially if your vehicle has all that electronic nonsense.

You're paying for it with your premiums, don't settle for aftermarket glass.

I've been with USAA for over 40 ears for both home and auto insurance. How many insurance companies give your a yearly rebate and hold that money in an account for you?

I’ve been with State Farm since 1975. A couple claims over the years handled very well. As stated above their rates have gone way up but so has everyone else’s it seems. I just shopped around and didn’t find any cheaper rates. I just had to replace my truck windshield and they put a factory one in so I’m glad for the post above. I didn’t know to insist on a factory one I was just pleased to see they put one in. Amazing took about a 1/2 hour at the glass shop (I wanted it done indoors due to cold temperatures).

My father was a very early customers of USAA with me on his policy and I became a member in 1968. Over all it's been a good experience but customer service has suffered somewhat in recent years.

I was with State Farm for 48 years but got to the point that the local agent didn't take care of you, unlike the agents from back in the early 70s. Plus the rates kept going up. When my last State Farm agent ending up in jail for cheating some of his policy holders I went with USAA. Been happy with them for the last 5 years and the rates are about the same as other companies. I do use the USAA SafePilot when they keep track of your driving. Save 30% on my premiums.

Been a USAA member since 1975, home, auto, life. Kids have it too. No real complaints, been pretty good service though, as had been said, their CS could use some tightening up.

I've been with State Farm for over 25 years, and a couple years ago got a bid from USAA, and they were nearly 15% higher than State Farm. Needless to say, I didn't switch. My State Farm has gone up but so has every other company.

I've been with USAA for over 26 years and have nothing but great service from them! Some folks have received a cheaper price from a competitor, but after the first year's coverage they all see the big raise in premium cost and should have just stayed with USAA. My auto insurance is around $1.00 a day for our Buick and GMC 2500, nobody can come close to that! Don't forget about the annual cash back on your premium they give too.

I just cashed my senior discount check.

Yep, forgot about that cash back. Also, they are one of the few insurance companies here in FL that have not (to my knowledge) demanded roof replacement for older roofs (15+ yrs).
