Oh no, it seems our good friends in Utah just scored worse than Arizona and Alaska by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence... They obviously need to study the sanity in California and New Jersey for pointers in how to protect their good citizens.

My favorite quote was would you rather walk down the street at midnight in Salt Lake City or South Central LA? Case closed.

Funny, some of the strictest controlling states are at the top.

But, why would PA get such a high rank from these people? What is this chart ranking? PA has OC without a license, state preemption, it is a shall issue state. Heck, NC has a better ranking and you can't carry a firearm at a parade, or where they charge admission! I thought PA was a fairly good gun-friendly state?

And Wisconsin doesn't even issue concealed carry permits? I guess I am missing the point of this chart.

Permit to purchase, background checks on private sales, mandatory private record keeping, must ive record to state, state firearm database, employers can prohibit guns in parking lots, Philadelphia has some loacl gun laws.
That stuff Brady likes: 26 Brady points for PA.
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence

Oklahoma's only two Brady points came from banning guns from college campuses. We need to fix that and get down there with UT.

I like that Florida is closer to the bottom than the top. Maybe if we pass our OC we will move further down.

I see Florida scored a 5, but the recent legislation that passed shaves one more point off.:) We're getting there!

I was confused; I thought that chart was some sort of murder / gun crime ranking. Thanks for clearing that up.

BTW, no permit to purchase in PA.

We got 8 points but thats only because they didn't find out about our NO PERMIT Carry law that takes effect July 1st, plus our "Make My Day" law was strengthened.

And we got the "Made in Wyoming Law".

Restrictive gun laws prevent law abiding citizens from owning guns. The bad guys get all they want.

Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia disarmed people, it is a means of controlling people.
