I am wanting to replace the factory plastic hand guard with the the UTG PRO 13" SuperSlim Keymod hand guard. I know I would have to get a Tacticool22 barrel nut adapter. Other than needing the barrel nut adapter, is there any reason that the UTG PRO Keymod would not fit my 15-22? Anyone ever use this hand guard on the 15-22? Would love to see pics. Also, any recommendation on which Tacticool22 barrel nut adapter would be best, the Mod or no mod one?
Thanks

On the barrel nut adapter it comes down to if you are willing to dremel the alignment tabs off your receiver for the stock hand guard or not as to how much gap on the top rail you are willing to live with. The Modded version requires you to take off the tabs that prevent the stock hand guard from rotating but it allows you to reduce the amount of gap between the upper receiver's rail and the hand guard's upper rail to the smallest amount. That said there is still a small gap there normally unless you modify your hand guard as well. If you use the barrel nut for unmodified receivers then you will have a much larger gap with hand guards such as the UTG. Originally I had the non modified barrel nut but the gap was just too much for me when I went with a MI rail. Last month I switched to the modified receiver barrel nut and it really did improve the fit but there still is going to be some modifying to get it perfect. The UTG rail that you are looking at has an advantage with the sides extending reward over the receiver so that any gap is better hidden, only the upper rail will really show it.
