I've been looking on GB but there is little that is directly relatable.
So I have a model 10-7 (1981 production) in my collection that I'm thinking about letting go. It's got a 6" pinned barrel, is unfired and pristeen in every way. It comes with the box ( with some wear), orgional papers, wax paper etc. (Even has the origonal BOS in there!. ) I'm never going to shoot it and am done collecting for the sake of it soo..

What would be a fair price to ask for such a specimine?

There were a zillion model 10's made and not really considered collectible as compared to many other models. The 5 and 6 inch pencil barrel 10's had no appeal to many. Seriously, I wonder if you could get $300 - $350 for it. Put it on an auction with a $99 start and you will get market price.

Sorry to (VEHEMENTLY) disagree, but $300-$350 just isn't accurate.

If it is as your describe in your words as:
unfired and pristeen in every way. It comes with the box ( with some wear), orgional papers, wax paper etc. (Even has the origonal BOS in there!. )
...then it is a collectible to most anyone who shops for collectibles.

As they made a zillion and it doesn't seem to have any original as shipped rare features, it is not a goldmine, high dollar collectible, but $300-$350 is an insult price or a "I'll buy this and flip this" price.

If you offered it on Gunbroker, I imagine that you would pull north of $500 for it, and if you sent it to a known top-tier consignment seller (I can recommend one), then it will probably go a bit higher, although you will owe the seller a slice of the proceeds.

Exactly $303.92... :) ... sold F-T-F to your most excellent friend from Massachusetts! Me! :D

That's my entire checkbook balance as of today! :D

On the other hand, based on your description, I'm thinking it could go for $500 to the right buyer via GB or the Forum.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 6" gun like that go north of $700. They ain't making them like that anymore and never will again. And besides, they never made many 6" guns in any era of M10 production.
Hell, you can't buy a beat-up police trade in 4" 10-6 for less than $300 these days and it will most likely have importer's stamps on it. No way a NIB example in an uncommon barrel length isn't worth double that or more.

I can't afford that kind of money but I'd be in at about three-six bits, if that will help you any. :D

never heard of a 6'' model 10. pics would be appreciated, maybe a rainbow unicorn?

Now, you had me going there for a minute. :p I was ready to call my firearms insurance agent and raise my coverage limit yet again! :) ;) That's three times in the last year so far!

What I want to know is how come every vintage S&W revolver that I find is underwhelming to the Forum but every such gun that someone else finds (or has) is a scarce and highly-valued near-one-of-a-kind collector's item worth megabucks? :p

I think I need to stop asking questions and just go with my gut from now on. :D Too many desirable guns already lost to other buyers and my heart can't take much more lost-another-one disappointment. ;)

No, it was a standard but less common length. 4" was by far the most common, then (probably) 2", then 5 and 6" in about the same numbers. 3 and especially 2.5" are scarce to downright rare.

After some flaming on my price, I did a quick GB sold search on 6" model 10's... I think you should list it here and allow one of these guys to buy it!

Indeed, one very nice 6-incher did go for $350. Wish I had been the lucky person that snapped up that bargain. ;)

The GB completed auction results do show that interest is kind of light for the 6" version of the Model 10. Most with starting/asking prices over $500 plus shipping did not find a buyer.

Lots of 6" Model 10-based PPC guns not finding buyers either. No real surprise there. A couple near me have been for sale forever. I've been offered to take them away for dirt money, but my collecting interest is in factory stock revolvers.

Thanks Guys, I actually intended to post in n the classifieds here first IF I can settle on a fair price. Otherwise, it will go on GB to let the world settle on the price.
I can say that for anything less than $500 ,it will likely stay in the safe. I don't need the money. I'm just looking to cthin the heard and give someone who whould appreciate it the opertunity.

Per request for pictures. Here are a few (lousy) shots.
