Velocity threshold for Rooster Jacket lube?

I have been using the Rooster Jacket lube for some time now with the Lee 158 gr. tumble lube bullet in the .357 Magnum. It seems to work well up to 1200 FPS with no significant leading in my 627-5. My RCBS Lubri-sizer has been down for some time now and I can't figure out what's wrong with it, so I've been using the Rooster as a substitute. It's fast and convenient and seems to work well for my purpose. I'd like to use it in a .44 Magnum carbine, which will probably get 1400 FPS with a 240 gr. bullet in the longer barrel. Any thoughts on this?

It kind of depends, but I suspect you are really pushing it at that velocity. Especially if they are not gas checked, if gas checked you're good to go.

I'd say give a few a whirl, since you've already had exceeded Rooster Jackets recommended velocity with good results.
