Just thought someone might find this useful if they're in the market for range brass.

JustReloading.com seems to be a newer company selling range brass. I bought 1,000 pieces of un-tumbled 9MM range brass for $30, shipped. Ordered on Friday and they shipped on Saturday. Received a few over 1100. Once they were all decapped and sized, I had 35 rejects - 14 .380's, 9 mangled, 3 Berdan primed and 9 that just weren't going to decap without excessive force.

Probably 2/3 of them had either a gold colored primer or some kind of primer sealer. I'm pretty sure at least that many were genuine "once fired" even though they weren't sold as such.

So, about 1070 pieces on net, about $0.028 per round.

All things considered, a very positive experience.

If you need some brass, these guys treated me well. Next time I need brass, they'll be my first stop.

There's a vendor at our local gun shows in Des Moines IA that routinely sells 1000 piece bags of 9mm brass for $20. OTD. I walked by his table late Sunday and he sold me 2000 for $35. I have sorted all and had virtually no rejects. I sort for military crimp brass(commonly seen as WCC or WMA) since the stuff needs special attention. He puts 60 extra pieces in each bag to cover any rejects. The brass was obviously once-fired.

I hate picking up brass at matches so I buy this cheap and leave it on the ground(other shooters always scarf it up).

The ranges I shoot offer lots of 9mm & 40, so I haven't bought either in the last 10yrs. Since I started shooting IDPA about 5yrs ago, I have more 45acp than I can shoot, unless I left it all behind.
Just be careful with 9mm brass marked FM or IMT, it has an internal step that can & will separate, leaving the forward portion stuck in the gun. Just toss em or use them as dummy rounds.

Thanks for the above reminder, I just came across one of these while sorting through some 9mm brass. I wasn't sure if that step ring was a good or bad thing...........now I know!

I sort all mine but let one get by me. It separated in the gun, no huge deal, but it does stop you from shooting for a bit.

Don't know about your Range but my Club Range is bristling with 9mm Brass. All it takes is a half hour of going through the Brass can and you can go home with enough that you will never have to buy any.

I pick up so much 9mm I am going to have to start tossing the stuff in the recycle bucket if it doesn't look once fired. I bought one of those brass picker uppers that you roll around sure save my back. people just leave it lay at the out door range and you get kicked out and asked not to come back if you take it out of the bucket at the indoor range. The reload it and sell it at the range and also sell the once fired brass. Helps to keep the price to shoot there down.

I shoot at my own private range so no brass to pick up there but mine. Shooting when you want, what you want, and however you want is nice and maybe makes up for not getting free brass.

I have ordered brass a couple times from Everglades ammo. It was good, clean brass and the price was good but looks like justreloading.com prices are even better. Everglades has really good deals on FMJ pistol bullets if anyone is looking for those. I've ordered several thousand from them at very good prices and it's quality stuff, especially for range plinking. Their shipping is fast too. Will definitely give these new guys a try next time I need some brass.
