Anyone have any experience with this holster for a full size 1911? Normally $43 and right now they are running a special for 20 bucks. Guess if it doesn't work I can't get hurt too bad. I plan to use it at the range, maybe low key 3 gun games. Won the Kimber Custom II it's for at our local Friends of the NRA banquet Saturday night!

If its the Versacarry holster with the 2 clip its what I use for my 5 inch Kimber that I carry daily. Its super comfortable, the little velcro pad can be adjusted however you need and can also be washed. So far I am very pleased. It also stays in place and the gun doesnt move.

One thing I did do with mine is I took the screws the hold the clips out and put some thread locker on them cause they were coming loose pretty easily but the thread locker too care of that.

For $20 bucks its a great deal. Paid $59 for mine.

Be sure to check the holster with your pistol as the high sights and extended grip safety tang on modern 1911 pistols interfere with the fit in some holsters made for Government 1911a1 pistols. I have several 1911 holsters that do not work with my Ruger SR 1911 because of the high sights and extended tang.

Not too shabby for $25 shipped, distressed water buffalo hide. And a pic of the gun I won.

I had one for a 1911, no magazine pouches. It didn't work for me. The leather is too bendy when you put it on a belt and when you draw the gun, the mouth of the holster closes (well, it did on mine) making it very difficult to re-holster. The mouth needs a reinforcing strip to hold it open but it doesn't have one.

There is a reason they're cheap. I don't think they're specific to a certain pistol, but general to fit a variety of pistols. I don't know this, however, because I've only had one. I think a 1911-size would also fit a HP, for example.

A nice full size 1911 deserves to ride in a nice holster. Here are a couple
of examples. Favorites for my Colt's Gold Cup.

Heiser #728 carved holster, Texas Gunslinger belt, silver Navajo buckle
by Nezzi. The knife is an Ultimate 1911.

Red Nichol's Brill-Persons and his Sidewinder belt.
