I have owned this Victory model hand ejector since 1969 and would like to know a little more information about it. When I traded for it, the grips were stag which I felt were out of place so I later found a beautiful set of checkered pre-war grips at a gun show and replaced them (serial number 650897).

The serial number on the butt is V 468337 and the lanyard hole has not been filled. It has the marking on the top strap of "U.S. Property - GHD" for Guy H. Drewry. It is also marked ".38 S&W Special CTG" on the barrel. It has a 4" barrel and the gun is blued rather than Parkerized. The serial number on the cylinder is different than the frame serial number (371302).

Any help in knowing more about the revolver and its current value would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! If by "cartridge case" you mean "cylinder," then the cylinder has been replaced. So, not in original configuration, refinished with non-original grips, it has no collector value, IMO. However, it makes a pretty nice shooter. And, the grips have some value on their own. I'd say in the $300-400 range.

Fairly certain from the pictures it was later polished and blued. Wartime Victories were blued, not Parkerized, but over a dull beadblasted steel surface. The 1930s round top grips on it are fairly desirable. Original grips would have been smooth wood, no medallions. Not much else can be said about it, except that it likely saw Navy service. Cylinder has been replaced, but given its other defects, that does not affect its value as a utility shooter much.
