Vortex VMX-3T

I currently have a Vortex Strikefire II mounted on my MOE M&P 15 and I am very happy with it...I am thinking about adding the VMX-3t magnifier and was wondering if anyone else has this set up and what they think about it if they do...

it's either that or a silencer for my 15-22...

I vote for the rimfire suppressor.

It's been my observations that magnifiers end up in the parts box for unused AR stuff.

I have that exact config on one AR. I use it almost exclusively in the magnified position. They work great with no issues. If purchasing both today, I would go straight for the Spitfire 3X to save a little weight. I purchased the VMX3 before Christmas and got it on sale. I don't regret the purchase.

A silencer will be one of my next purchases, but even the cheapest will be double the cost and take 3+ months.

Right.

The advantages of a 1x red dot is unlimited field of view and eye relief, and light weight too.
When you add a magnifier you cancel all the advantages. And when you flip the magnifier to the side you got all this junk in your face. They definitely look cool in pics on the Net.... but not so much in actual use for most folks. At least that's been my observations.
