I would like to see S&W start producing this revolver again. Prices for 648 on auctions sights are crazy.

Same sentiments here, never saw one (M-648) in person, only photos but did find a M-648 cylinder and had it fitted & timed to a M-617 with results that will gratify even the most particular shooters. A great alternative that is still doable.

I just decided to give up and buy one,,, it is my woods walking gun,,

It was helpful that a neighbor happened to want to sell one!!
