Hello all. A friend of mine found this and based upon my research this is a Civil War era gun. It is stamped 22 on the barrel and 22 on the frame as the serial number and on the top of the barrel are the words The Union. It was produced around 1860 in 31 caliber. Picture on this site shows the gun (mine has a bead front site and less bluing) Antique American Firearms

Mine is a w.w. marston percussion cap single action in good condition, still cocks and trigger works, no rust or pitting.

Anyone have the name of web site or online dealer like a Civil War version of Gunbroker? I have seen two auctions from 2012 where each one went for $350 and browsing the Civil War Gun Value book today G to VG goes between 300 and 590. I want to sell it but not sure where.

Thanks

Bump time

I see gunbroker has a section for civil war firearms but I figure a collectors site would be better.

Anyone have any sites to steer me to?

Contact The Horse Soldier in Gettysburg, PA. Those folks deal with some very high end Civil War era firearms, and are quite knowledgeable.
