Anybody catch the third season finale of "The Walking Dead"? Andrea gets bit at the end, and decides to end her own life with Rick's Colt Python. As the group waits outside the door, you hear a shot, and then the sound of the empty shell casing hitting the concrete. Must have been one of those rare "semi auto" Pythons. :) Anyway, just great entertainment filmed right here in the Southeast, and I can't wait for October! Will the Governor prevail? Will Carl turn out to be a cold blooded killer? Why the hell did they take all those folks back to the prison anyway, instead of settling in Woodbury?

That's what I thought too, but then I thought maybe it was the gun dropping to the floor and it just sounded muted through the door.

I don't think the governor can prevail, but he can still make a lot of trouble for Rick and his crew.

What a disappointing episode not even remotely close to what a finale should be. At least andrea is over. And carl has turned into shane

I think there was a second shooter near the grassy knoll. Yeah, why not take woodbury and all its supplies?

I was watching the eyes on the kid with the shotgun. To me he looked like he was trying to get close enough to either deploy the shotgun or go for the kids 9mm. So as we all know he shot the kid with the shotgun. Well within the 7 yard zone. Frank

I thought it was a wise move on Carl's part as well. Kid should have dropped the gun when he was told. As far as taking people back to the prison, I think it will be easier to secure than a town. This is the second time Rick's Python ended a cast member's life. Daryl killed Dale with it after he was gutted by a zombie, now Andrea uses it to off herself. Talk about a blood gun.

it was NOT what i expected or as dramatic as they had led us to believe...

i too thought the kid ws going for carl's gun...he did what he had to do...

i'm glad andrea is gone, but would have rather seen her go out in a more spectacular fashion...had she kept trying for the pliers WHILE she was talking to milton, things would have ended better for her...

ole gov went off the deep end in a big way...i can't believe one of the two dipwads that left with him did not shoot him when they had the chance...i would have...

Actually it was her own stainless 9mm she used. Remember she made the comment to Rick "I remember to take the safety off."

I am just sorry they didn't have any more commercials:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Yep kinda anti climactic. Carl grew a set! Its almost like he's beginning to challenge Rick for leadership. I agree though that Carl killing that kid was the "right" thing to do. Had he just dropped the shotgun like he was told instead of inching closer he might have lived.

Andrea talked to much lol. Seriously what was with all the stopping to reminisce while the dude is duying and will turn sooner or later.

rick also ended zombie sophia with it...

rick does hand her his colt, the comment about the safety was a joke...there was an empty shell casing hitting the ground, then the sound of the gun falling...super ninja michonne should have caught it...

I was able to set it up so I got Walking Dead, the Vikings, and Game of Thrones back-to-back. All were good but I think The Vikings was the best of the three last night. Close, though!

I wasn't as disappointed as my co-workers. They all hated it. Andrea was nice eye candy so I'm sorry to see her go. My complaints with this show always center around the accuracy. After the gov's party is driven from the prison and they stop on the road everyone is all "it was a slaughter!!!!', etc. I didn't see Glen and Maggie hit anyone with their fire. Again, they can all hit long range head shots on the run against zombies but no one is capable of hitting anyone with a rifle. Who threw the flash bangs, or were they trip wired?

As far as Andrea's comment about the safety, that was a reference to season 1 when Rick first hooked up with them and he said he wasn't worried about her shooting him because her safety was on. I too thought the sound after her kill shot was too light to be the Python and it was meant to be a shell casing hitting the floor.

As far as everyone returning to the prison vs. taking over Woodbury I assume the thinking there is that the prison is easier to defend with the gov still at large.

It's entertainment, not a documentary so I can live with the inaccuracies. October is a long time off, hopefully Hell on Wheels comes back soon.

My wife made the comment about the casing hitting the floor. If you listen carefully it is the revolver hitting the floor. Not a casing. There is a metallic scratch sound more than a "tink" sound.

Ohiojerry, Maggie and Glenn might not have been trying to kill anyone, just scare em off.

I loved watching the .50 cal machine gun take out the zombies!!! :D:D

They have done the "shell casing hitting the floor" before while the Python was being fired. Specifically when Shane and Otis were running from the Walkers, every time Shane fired the Colt, you could hear the casings hitting the concrete, even when they were on soft ground or grass. I know the owner of the store where they get all their tactical stuff (like the riot gear Maggie and Glen were wearing during the attack). I'll mention to him, next time someone comes in to pick up stuff, get on to them about the shell casing sound. :D:D:D He knew about that .50 on the Hummer several months ago. Apparently he made the arrangements for them to use it but the owner had to be on the set at all times. I don't know if that was part of the deal or if it's a class III rule. Oh yeah, I forgot that Michael Rooker (Merle) was wandering around the store a couple of months ago.

One thing I noticed last night and have noticed before. Does it seem like Andrew Lincoln holds that Colt with kind of a bent wrist? Or is that just the way the Python is made? Never shot or held one so I really don't know.

I think part of the disappointment with this episode is it's hard to top last weeks ending with Darryl putting down Walker Merle. Personally, I would have ended with the outside shot of the door just after Walker Milton went after Andrea. You hear her scream and the growling walker sound and then nothing. Then kill off Andrea first episode of next season. Overall, I still thought the ending with Carl stomping off after they began unloading the Woodbury people was a fair ending along with the final view of the prison past the old cross on someone's grave.

Its a new NFA rule. Silencers, short barrel rifles and machine guns need to accompany the owner. If i were to let you shoot or carry my short barrel rifle (SBR) I'd have to be with you

Ok, I'm confused! When Carl and Rick were talking outside about Carl shooting the guy as he ran from the prison, Carl stated that "I didn't kill the walker in the woods, and it killed Dale, and you(Rick) didn't kill Andrew and then Andrew killed Mom" Who is Andrew? Is Andrew the walker that ate Lori?
