Im not a big fan of shopping there but--sometimes they can hit a home run. Two cases in point yesterday.

I swaggered over to the ammo counterfully expecting to still see nothing .22--and was quite correct BUT--that counter guy said that--though it still sells out--its staying on shelves a little longer. Now--this thread really wasnt meant to be about ammo though.

The bigger reason for this thread is for those who like classic stuff on DvDs,.

WM--has a huge (at least here) section of DvDs they just put out--that are cheaply priced and complete seasons-of many TV shows. For instance--I picked up the entire first season of: Gunsmoke--which ive never seen any eps from and am looking forwards to seeing Chester--as part of the gang.

The 1st season of: The Virginian, Petticoat Junction, Leave It To Beaver, I love Lucy-etc--are also $10 bucks per. I picked up Gunsmoke of course--and limited myself to oe other--which was Frasier. They had about 20 different series to choose from--also had some Red Skelton and other stuff.
These are all in red and white colored packaging and easily spotted--and im guessing--TV Guide supported release? The sticker is--is that--most are published by the original studios that released them--like Paramount etc and therefore--the best quality posssible. The rest are public domain-and released by companes like: Mill Creek-etx--which almost never release good copies of anything.

Ive got 2 episodes left of season 2 of Maverick--so will be watching some Gunsmoke as of Monday.

Around herre-they never have any speical events of anykind.I remember some they had when i lived in Austin. It was John Waynes birthday they were celebrating and they made abig dealof it--which I liked I might add.:D Anyway, theyhad banners-posters--and even gave away packages of John Wayne Beef jerky and Chewing gum. They had one heck of a DvD display too. I picked up at least 10 John Wayne movies that day--$5 bucks each reg price was $10) and was given free Jerky, Gum and soemthing else?

Anyway, here in Corpus--they dont do things like that--which sucks Prune Pits.

My buddy told me six of the local losers were waiting for the gun counter to open early Saturday to buy their 3 boxes of 100 rounds. I'll look on the local ads to see how much they are trying to sell them for a bit later.

Kinda back on topic. If I were to campout ther? I would nab one of those classics and watch it on my portable dvd player.

I forgot to mention--they also had season 1 of Rawhide. I already have it--paid twice as much for it months ago at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Anyway--season 1 is excellent.

Nah, it wasnt a real scold--im saving that for one ofmy neighbors who riles me since he thinks he's an expert on everything. This neighbor was the one I ousted-- for lying about being in the 3rd Inf Div--Iraq-IEDs and such. Last night he got reamed by my other nieighbor on somehting-then--before the mosquitos forced me to go in--I gave him another too. This was for somehting stupid he said about UH 1 D Hueys and what a louse of a chopper they were. This kid(28) doesnt know his (insert nasty word here) from a hole in the ground.

Didn't realize people were re-selling until I read about it on the Forum. Another poster used the word "codger" to describe them. I almost fell for it at the Cashman show last year when I saw a "codger" with 100rd packs of 9mm for sale. I held off, then read these packs are produced only for Walmart, don't know if this is true.

Odd, the way some people act. You'd think there were no LGS here in the Valley, that only Walmart sold ammo.

They do have some good DVD's there.
The 22 ammo on Saturday was a 100 round box, limit of three for 7.49 a box.
No coffee or donuts to be had (unless you buy them) :D

To change to topic real quick.

Living in Corpus, do you ever make the Robstown show?

Yessir, I do. I make every show and, there is one at the end of Oct--probably one in Nov and definitely one in Dec. If you ever go?I can introduce you to the best dealers there--as well as a good friend of mine--Bobby Cisneros--who "greets" everyoneat the door to checkin their weapons. Hes Constable for precinct 2--and a great guy.

You know, they say drinking and driving dont mix. Well, DvDs and Ammo--sure do.

PS, when I lived inAustin--I used to make all the shows when they were held at what was once known as: the Crockett Convention Center located on N. Lamar. I only made it to one show where they are now at--off one of the main arteries.

If you go to Robstown and the shows at the old Crockett Center...well then you have probably been to my tables numerous times. Last Robstown show I was in the backroom..had a bunch of old Smith's on my table with 2 dozen or so of old military rifles.

Unfortunately I will not be at the next show in November in Robstown.

Last time I was in Walmart I ended up putting a Bushmaster AR on layaway. Was on sale for $499 and I couldn't resist.
