Was thinking about heading down there next weekend to check out this show.

Anyone have any experience about this particular show?

I've never been there...but I wish I was going. My understanding is, it's the largest in the country. Check out the website for the show.

The largest near me is the Reno Show at the Grand Sierra. I've never been to one larger.

Go and have a great time. Let us all know what you think.

It's BIG! Bring some good walking shoes. It's hard to see the whole thing in one day. I usually do the upper floor, which is bigger, on Sat. &, if I can still walk, on Sun. I go back & do the lower & spot check the upper again.

Last time the aisles seemed to be a little wider (less tables?) but be prepared for lots of people to dance around in the aisles anyway.

.

I've been dozens of times and would probably make the 4 hour drive over this time if it wasn't opening day of modern gun deer season in Arkansas. It's a lot of fun and as hard as I've tried I've never really been able to do it justice in one day.

Anybody who is going, Don't miss the BBQ buffet at the Best Western Airport motel on Sat nite... Auction and show-and -tell.. Contact Ken Sheely for times and reservations..

I grew up in Tulsa and went twice a year for many years. Comfortable shoes is a must and I would park in the neighborhood on the South side and plan on walking a few blocks instead of trying to get in the parking lot and wasting a lot of time in traffic trying to find a space. A small backpack with some snacks in it might also be nice especially if you buy some handguns or accessories.

I have been told it's a 25 mile jaunt if you walk the entire show and my feet pretty much verified this. If I lived closer I'd be a regular attendee.

I usually go, not going this time. I will go next spring. As others have said, expect to use both days to do it justice. You may not be able to do it then. Expect miles of walking. If you can't find it there, they didn't make it. Lots of good stuff. If you can do it, get a copy (or two) of your FFL's license. You will not be able to directly buy any handgun and some long guns from any dealer. They will have to ship to your FFL. One final note, it you are planning to stay at a hotel/motel, I hope you already have reservations. They can be hard to come by.

Dunno how far you're away but IMO everybody needs to make the Tulsa Arms show at least once.
As mentioned, wear comfortable shoes and I'd plan on going both days if you want to see it all. It's that big.

I want to thank everyone for their replies and insight into this thread. I think I'll head out from Wichita early Saturday and see what I can do in the first day.

If you see something you are interested in, and decide to move on and maybe come back later, be sure to make a note on where it is. I get lost and can never find the the right table after moving around for several more aisles.

I go every year at lest once, but often make both the spring and fall shows. In all the years that I've been, there's only one time I came home empty handed. I enjoy collecting .22 rifles and single shots in particular. Like has been already stated, If you can't find it there it probably doesn't exist.

I have met several forum members there over the years, also many Gunbroker members. Many are now friends.

Wear comfortable shoes, bring a pencil and paper to record locations of your finds, bring lots of money and be prepared to be overwhelmed. Everyone that is interested in firearms needs to experience Tulsa at least once.

Only thing wrong with it is that it's not five or six days long. I drove 600-800 mile and walked about half that once I got there.
You got to go, there's stuff there you won't ever see anywhere. Very little BS (as in junk shop curio.) all guns.

I'll be there on Saturday, only live a few miles from where the show is held. I usually skip over a lot of tables that I can see have nothing of interest to me .comfortable walking shoes. I'm breaking in a new pair of insoles in mine all week.

I echo the comfortable shoes. It is a LOT of walking.
Take lots of money or leave it ALL at home.

First time I went I was with three friends who are brothers. They had their arms full of guns to sell and sold every one. And left with more guns than they arrived with.

If you see something you can't live without, there are certainly others there who feel the same way and have more money than you do. When you find a keeper, haggle and buy it. If you go away to "think about it" or to try to give the seller time to reconsider, it WILL be gone when you return. That first visit I missed three things I really wanted but also wanted the prices to come down more. *sigh*

I second the BBQ buffet at the Best Western Airport motel on Sat night. Go hungry.

I'll be there again. About a 20 minute drive. Be sure to take a pad and pencil. The place is laid out in a grid pattern to help you relocate a table you saw earlier. Oh yeah, what they said, wear comfortable shoes. It is huge.
