Want a Fixed Stock on my 15-22????

Once again, I will comment on the Magpul fixed carbine stock and how well it fits ( or does not) on the 15-22 before installing it on one of my AR's. it is due to arrive UPS tomorrow. Unfortunately I am computer stupid and have no idea how to post a photo (and do not want to know) but will give a written commentary.

Your response has nothing beneficial to add to the original question, my inability to operate a computer in ways other than how I do is my concern. I shall remove my ignoraance from this thread and the forum all together thank you.

I have the STR, and it is a nice stock. However, I find that I use it extended all of the time. So I am considering this one from Magpul...

STOCKS - MOE® Rifle Stock

I sent an email to Magpul asking if it will fit before ordering it. Hope they reply soon.
It won't fit.
A1 and A2 have a round buffer tube that has a threaded hole on the end of the tube so that the fixed stock can bolt to it. The front of the stock locks into the alignment plate recess under the buffer tube (the A1/A2 does not have the plate because it does not have a castle nut either).
The 15-22 has a non-round simulated buffer tube that has the locking holes for the carbine stock plus it is not closed off on the back end with a threaded hole the stock needs to lock it down. I know because I have one of these in my collection that is going on my suppressed SBR AR.

ACE Entry Skeleton Buttstock 7-1/4 Overall Length AR-15 LR-308

This is their carbine length version of their A1/A2 skeleton stock. It comes with its own short buffer tube but attaches just like their long version. Neither of these would work on a 15-22 either.

It is possible to make an A1 or an A2 stock fit on an M&P 15-22; I did it. I took a saw and cut a notch in the bottom of the tube in the stock that goes around the "buffer tube". If you go this route, modify the stock, not the rifle in case you make a mistake.

That is in fact the only way to get it to work.
