Want to see an ugly barrel?

This is a 10 inch barrel with 4 position front sight. Approximately the first 4 inched past the forcing cone are badly corroded. I have tried all solvents I have, plugged with a cork left solvents work for several days and brushed with several different bore brushes.
I wonder what the owner did to ruin the barrel ?

Wow. That's pretty tragic. I've Model 36 that appears about half that bad and it nevertheless shoots pretty well. Have you shot it? Just curious. Bryan

Last time I saw a barrel like that the owner didn't read the label on a container of Sweet's copper remover. He let it dwell for a few days...
