I'm looking for some help on the age of a cartridge belt and possibly a holster as well. I bought these off eBay for basically nothing to use as a display with some of my large frame top break S&W(44 DA 6", 44-40 DA 4", 44-40 NM3 Frontier 6")at home.
The holster and belt aren't nearly old enough to be period correct but that doesn't bother me.

The belt is marked Warren with a diamond around it. The only information I can find online is about the Warren leather goods company that made holsters in WW2. Are these the same companies? The belt is 42" long end to end and has 30 loops for ammo. I believe the loops are for 38 special or 357 magnum. I fit 28 44 Russian rounds easily but wasn't possible to fit 2 more to make it 30. The buckle has the anchor for North&Judd.

The holster that came with the belt is a Bauer Brothers from St. Louis. It doesn't have the moose logo I've seen on some other holsters for sale so I'm not sure what era it is. It's marked H37 and I think that's supposed to fit a 3.5" 357 per an old holster chart I found. It fits my 4" DA 44-40.

I also bought this left hand Bauer Bros holster, it's marked M30 and has a leg tie down on it. It was super cheap, hoping to find a cheap right hand version too.

I have no knowledge about Warren or if it was the same company as the U.S. contract supplier. The construction of the belt including the adjustable loops make me guess it was made in the 1950's or later. The 2nd Brauer Bros. double loop holster is identical to one I bought from Herter's to hold the High Standard Double Nine revolver I received for my 14th birthday so 1966 or so. The first BB holster with the brass snaps dates to the 1940's or '50's, like other makers they stopped using the more expensive snaps like those after that time frame.
Period correct holsters for the older revolvers you mentioned are getting harder to find and are getting more expensive, then again what
isn't ?
Regards,
