Washington State/Florida Sign Reciprocity Agreement

FL and WA have agreeded to honor each others permit/license to carry. This is more good news for those who travel and carry firearms. I look for more agreements and other positive law changes in the coming months concerning carrying firearms.

I contacted the FL dept that issues permit/licenses and was told that from his understanding that since FL would not honor a WA non resident permit WA would not honor a FL non resident permit. I was instructed to contact WA AG for more info. So I have done that. I sure hope this is not true as it just makes it so hard to show that non resident permits are valid WA for some states but not others.

Just about every business day unless away from computer access I run a search of about 75 websites to see if there are any changes on those pages. If there are my computer tells me and I then have to go look. I have a master list for each state that has the states they honor listed. I then compare the lists unless the site spells out who they just added. Been doing this for 15+ years and technology has made it much easier.

I need to add that readers also give me the heads up on many law changes in the different states. I know a lot of times but I can't keep track of every state every day. There are mailing lists and websites that post items on laws that are being heard in every state. Just takes a little time to read up to find that info.

FL has an agreement with ALLOT of states. Three just up my way. You can pull an out of state permit with them as well which gives you rights in those sttes. Started the process a few years back and got sidetracked.

Both FL and WA CCW sites say they will only reciprocate for residents of the respective states.

FL out of state is good 'cause a DD214 is proof enough of firearms training.
It's good for 7 years, but you've got to pay full price for renewal, another 7 years. You also have to re-supply FPs etc. on renwal It's like $125 plus picture and finger prints each time.
It's good in 30 states - more or less.

UT is also good in 30 states. You've got to take a lecture course about 6 hrs - no shooting. Prices about $80+/-. Then pay UT $65. Good for 5 years, but only $10 to renew for 5 yrs and you don't have to get printed again or anything.
