I know this post will have a limited audience, but who else wants to hear an old dude ramble? :) At least here I can't tell if you're bored. :p The Air Force Base on the island of Guam had a regular theater, and a smaller, outdoor and uncovered walk-in theater we called the Washout, because brief rains were frequent. I think it was free.

It was wonderful. Even if the movie wasn't very good, you could look at the tropical moon and stars. I was there from 1976-78.

There was a drive-in featured on American Pickers yesterday, and everything reminds me of something else. Feels good to set it free.

Remember sneaking into the drive-in near my house as a kid to see a double feature: Rio Lobo and The Outlaw Josey Wales.
watched many a movie there 73-74. it was always packed because at the time we had close to 100 B-52s, crews and support people there TDY. I was permanent party for 15 months. thanks for the memories. Lee

I was there Jan-June '73 and remember the theater. There was also one on the beach on the end of the runway at U-Tapao. Little interruptions while the Buffs passed overhead were the norm.
