I didn't realise your country had such a small population. I do like how you folks roll though.

I think a block in any large city in the US has a higher population than Norway :)

Been there - beautiful country and great people!

Yep. I've been there three times, the first two trips were courtesy of the U.S. Government on their "all-expenses-paid-NATO-visits", near Trondheim. Even picked up my "Order of the Blue Nose' for operating north of the Artic Circle. We were cautioned that if we had to eject, we'd probably freeze to death in those cold fjord waters before the SAR birds could get to us.

The last time was in 2005 with the missus. Great people and a wonderful country. If you visit, be sure to bring a lot of Krone!!

Thanks for the post!

Been there too, love it! My second favorite country (sorry, I have a blood connection to my first favorite).

Always been a dream of mine to explore the fjords. Love Norwegian beer and womens!

Although my first favorite country to visit is Holland. ...for a few obvious reasons[emoji6]

This thread made me do it! I just poured a nice glass of akevitt to savor on a Friday afternoon. :)

PS, I loved the movie with Kirk Douglas and Sir Richard Harris--where they blew up a ship with a shipment of German heavy water on board. The actual heavy water--man barrels have been rescued and Norwegian museums and such--sell vials of it,.

As a citizen of Wisconsin I thank the Norwegians for their love of butter and the invention of the cheese slicer.

Typical Packer backer.

However, that gratitude does not extend to Norway's promotion of Vikings and their culture.

My paternal great grandmother's last name was Andersen, my dad's family told so many great Norwegian stories that always emphazied the greatness of the Norwegians over the Swedes that I took it for granted that they were Norwegian by ancestory. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I found that both grandpa and grandma came over from Denmark and the family had been Danish for centuries. I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed, until I read about the rich Danish history.

This is how we do it over here :)

a youtube video showing how strange norwegians are ;)

I have to say that any country that eats fresh game and PIZZA, cuts cheese with such class, and dresses like a Viking, is alright in my book!
If I'm lying, well arrest me for smuggling butter and throw me in one of your prisons.

My side of the family came over from Norway in the 1880s.
My mom and dad took a tour of the country years ago. Although we
still have relatives there they were unable to see any because of the
tour schedule.

My wife is Finnish in extraction but makes many of the Norwegian
delicacies my mother used to make each Christmas.
