It's not long and not a pistol, but is a S&W 76.

Yes i have all the paperwork and legalities of owning it. Have owned it since the early 80's

Outstanding! I have shot a 76 and it has always been a favorite of mine! I wish that I would have been able to buy one, pre 86. The LGS that I went to at the time was a Class III dealer and I remember M76's for $375-450 + the $200 tax. Reason that I couldn't was that the CLEO of county that I lived in frowned upon citizens not being in the blue club owning Class III's and I was in my mid 20's and not well politically connected. After 86, M76's and other Class III's just got stupid expensive and I had a hard time justifying the cost for one when I knew what they used to go for. Swedish K's were a favorite as well

Yep, 86 killed a lot of class3 sales. no way most people can buy what they ask for them now and frankly they are not worth the price now. No way an M-16 is worth 25 grand, just my opinion but that's way overpriced when you could buy them for 4 to 600 before the ban.

We had several of these close by when I worked narcotics back in the early 70's. They were fun to shoot and the free practice ammo was a plus. My deceased friend and former forum member had one with a silencer. He was even featured on a TV show with it. It was fun to shoot, especially with the silencer. It went back to a class III dealer after he passed away.

Haven't shot one. I have had the opportunity to shoot a Swedish K several times and love it.

Going back to Vegas next month. You just moved the 76 to the top of my bucket list.
